The story

Kaizer Chiefs' midfield talent, Mduduzi Shabalala didn't have the smoothest of rides last season, making 21 appearances and managing only two goals in all competitions.

The 20-year-old will hope to have more influence on the pitch for the Glamour Boys next season under a new coach and is already making adjustments to his image.

"Mdu or Die" recently got full set of braces, opting for the traditional metal braces over the clear option. The baller's orthodontist shared a reel of him carefully installing the braces onto Shabalala's teeth.

On average, traditional metal braces may range between R18 000 to R49 000, with research showing that ages between 10 and 14, are the widely considered the ideal time frame to get braces.

With Mdu's original teeth appearing to be slightly crooked, it won't be a surprise if the Amakhosi baller has his braces off by this time next year, if not slightly earlier.
