The story

With the season 3 of the SA20 cricket tournament set to start this weekend, the Jo'burg Super Kings were hosted by Amakhosi to celebrate the club's milestone anniversary.

The Super Kings were represented by Proteas capped stars, Hardus Viljoen, Tabraiz Shamsi, Sibonelo Makhanya, New Zealand international batter Devon Conway and England allrounder Moeen Ali among other cricketers at the FNB Stadium for Chiefs' clash with Stellenbosch FC.

The cricketers were given VIP treatment by the Chiefs management, with Kemiso and Jessica Motaung showing the players around the ground prior to kick-off, interacting with fans and swapping jerseys.

Led by Makhanya, the players were seen singing with the Khosi Nation, celebrating an all-important win for Nasreddine Nabi's men, coming courtesy of a Wandile Duba brace in a 2-1 win.

A day before the Chiefs' 55th birthday, the club released a statement on their website, backing the Johannesburg T20 side ahead of their third SA20 campaign, which kicks of on Saturday evening at the Wanderers Stadium against MI Cape Town.

"Kaizer Chiefs Football Club extends its best wishes to the Jo'burg Super Kings for the forthcoming 2025 Betway SA20 season," reads the start of the Chiefs' statement, with Jessica Motaung affirming the club's support of the Jozi big hitters.

"We are pleased to support them and wish the team the best of luck for the tournament. Our partnership was highly productive last year, and we aim to build on this success in the upcoming season," noted Chiefs' marketing director.

"We look forward to reciprocating the hospitality, and hosting them at our matches, while they will be hosting our juniors, fans, and first team at their games. We are excited to continue our relationship and explore opportunities for mutual growth and success," added Motaung, as quoted on Chiefs' site.

The statement also revealed that Amakhosi's development players and staff will be in attendance for JSK's SA20 opener on Saturday.
