It's hard enough to keep a relationship going for the average man on the street, let alone when temptation is rife as a famous footballer. Today, the Fan Park crew has decided to look at the love triangles of footballers on a local and international front.
Here are five examples of our local footballers' love triangles.
Killer Mphela The Catfight
The story was cast all over the media when a 'catfight' broke out between Killer Mphela's girlfriend, Tumi, and a lady called Tshepang. Much to the dismay of his girlfriend, Killer was allegedly paying more attention to Tshepang and a bar fight broke out between the two ladies. Plates and glasses were smashed and it is said that both ladies sustained open-wound injuries.
Itumeleng Khune Minnie Dlamini Call It Splits
The relationship between Itumeleng Khune and Minnie Dlamini was a highly publicised one, and so was their break up. After having rocked up together at several award ceremonies last year, the two finally called it quits in a highly public manner via Twitter. Newspaper reports claimed that Khune was involved in a 'groping incident' with DJ Euphonik's then girlfriend, Bonang Matheba.
The Tragic Story Of Senzo Kelly
Undoubtedly the most shocking love tale of all footballers in South Africa, Senzo Meyiwa was involved in an open affair with Kelly Khumalo despite being married. After Meyiwa's tragic murder, reports in the media later emerged that Khumalo was not Senzo's only relationship with another woman.
Fish's Marriage In Deep Water
When Mark Fish and Loui wed, they were the celebrity couple of South Africa. However, their marriage hit the rocks when Loui claimed that the former Orlando Pirates defender reportedly had an affair with his Bolton Wanderers teammate's wife, Pauline Branagan, just a year after tying the knot. The couple later divorced in 2011 and Fish has gone on to marry Salome Janse van Rensburg.
Gcaba Zwane Texting The Same Girl
In the latest love triangle to have emerged among the PSL players, Bafana Bafana teammates Ayanda Gcaba and Themba Zwane were reportedly caught texting the same girl while in camp in Equatorial Guinea for this year's AFCON. It has been said that Zwane had asked the girl, Lerato "Leera" Ngobeni, to send him pictures of her private parts, while Gcaba was said to have 'talked dirty' with her over the phone.
These are just some of the stories! Tune into Fan Park at 12pm today to see the international version of 'Footballers Love Triangles'.
