Adidas introduced a special anniversary edition UEFA Champions League Official Match Ball – Finale Istanbul 21 – celebrating 20 years of the iconic "starball" design.

First introduced in 2001, the "starball" design was based on the stars of the UEFA Champions League logo and has since become an iconic symbol of this elite tournament – a tournament that brings together the best in the game to compete for a place in football history.

Finale Istanbul features every design from the last 20 UEFA Champions League finals, weaving past and present together in one high-performance ball. Slim red banners detail each year and city, whilst tiny, embossed stars across the entire surface complete the unique and celebratory aesthetic.
The ball continues to offer control, aerobatic stability and a secure grip via thermally-bonded hexagon panels, overlapping stars and textured coating. Incorporating sustainable glue, the ball provides a seamless surface and improved the first touch for even more precision on the pitch.

Finale Istanbul 21 will be used from tomorrow until the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League Final, which takes place in Istanbul on 29 May 2021. It will be available from 10 am CET tomorrow from adidas.com, in adidas stores and selected retailers.
