Or was it really him?   The duo will once again be competing for football's most prestigious individual title on Thursday evening, when the Ballon d'Or ceremony takes place at the Eiffel Tower.    Ronaldo has been tipped to secure his fifth Ballon d'Or, which would see him equal his nemesis Messi's record.    One person who will be feeling conflicted, though, is Cristiano Junior, who is a massive admirer of the Argentine, and it has been rumoured that he took to Instagram to leave him a short but adorably cute message.    Check it out!      Translated from Spanish, the caption reads: "Thank you my idol, Lionel Messi."   Subsequently, the Instagram account has since been shut down, sparking questions over whether Ronaldo himself was unhappy with the post or if he had been hacked, with some even suggesting that the account was fake.    "Cristianinho" has previously been awestruck by Messi's presence at previous award ceremonies, where Ronaldo encouraged him to greet one of the world's greatest ever players.    Have a look!      If it was Ronaldo Jnr who sent the post, it is completely adorable.
