What's the story?
In a footballer's life, looking the part in every aspect of their lives plays an important role when it comes to their profiles and popularity. Whether it be dress code, grooming and in this case, cars, footballers often opt for style.
Many ballers find themselves making trips to the chop shop for some custom changes to their vehicles, whether it be in the form of adding a new set of rims or changing the paint of their rides.
Big Wheels
As is the case for ex-Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo, who gave his BMW a bold makeover.
Previously seen in a white factory colour, Mhlongo turned his BMW M240i into an easily recognizable lime green Convertible. Mamelodi Sundowns star Lyle Lakay has driven a number of Beamers throughout his career and usually gave his ride slight changes in the form of different wheels and various colour accents.
Wrap It Up
Midfielder Menzi Masuku took his black Volkswagen Golf 6 GTI and wrapped it in a bold pearlescent/mirrored pink colour. The Vrrphaa as the GTI is known in South Africa, is a popular ride among footballers, with many likewise going down the customization route.
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Willard Katsande who has an eye for the big bold, went for a more stealthy approach in customizing his BMW X6, as seen in its matte grey colour scheme.
