Best Quotes From Roy Keane

Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane, is due to release his autobiography tomorrow and it is scathing! The aggressive midfielder from Cork was always controversial during his time here, but what he's said is shocking nonetheless.

It has already been revealed that Keane was meant to have the number 7 jersey at Manchester United, rather than David Beckham.

Here's a few of the best quotes that will be coming out of his autobiography, The Second Half:

On Alex Ferguson…

"If he was being nice I would think: 'This is business, this.' He was driven and ruthless. That lack of warmth was his strength. United was a much bigger club than [Nottingham] Forest, but his coldness made him successful. As a manager I would take Clough's warmth and Ferguson's ruthlessness and put them in the mix – but also add my own traits."

On apologising to Ferguson after leaving club...

"Now I kind of wish I hadn't. Afterwards I was thinking, 'I'm not sure why I f------apologised.' I just wanted to do the right thing."

On Cristiano Ronaldo joining United...

"We were playing Sporting Lisbon to celebrate the opening of their stadium. I saw how good Ronaldo was that day. He was up against John O'Shea. Sheasy ended up seeing the doctor at half time because he was actually having dizzy spells.

"The club concluded negotiations after the game and we always joked with Sheasy he had actually sealed the deal by playing like a f------ clown."

On Peter Schmeichel...

"I had a bust-up with Peter when we were on a pre-season tour of Asia. I think we were in Hong Kong. There was drink involved. The manager had a go at us as we were getting on the bus, and people were going on about a fight in the hotel the night before. It started coming back to me – the fight between me and Peter. Peter had grabbed me, I'd headbutted him – we'd been fighting for ages."

On his tackle on Alf-Inge Haaland...

"There are things I regret in my life and he's not one of them."

On Sunderland players listening to Abba...

"They were going to play a match men v men, 'f****** Dancing Queen'"

On THAT MUTV interview...

"Even now people still say: 'The video had to be destroyed.' Like it was a nuclear weapon or something.

"Did someone drive out to the countryside and bury it in the f------ ground? Or did a bomb disposal unit come and explode it? It had to be destroyed."

"I wasn't worried about the dressing room," Keane said. "They knew my form. It was getting a bit silly so I got the players together in the dressing room and told them it was f------ nonsense. Not one of them had an issue. Not one."

On row with United coach Carlos Queiroz during 2005...

"I said, 'Don't you f------ talk to me about loyalty, Carlos'. "Don't you dare question my loyalty. I had opportunities to go to Juventus and Bayern Munich."

The book promises to be a spectacular read and I can't wait to see what else Roy had to say about his playing and managerial career. Although as a United fan, I'm a little bit scared to see what he has to say about his time at Old Trafford.

What do you think about what Roy Keane has had to say about his career in football?
