What's the story?
By now, most of Europe's top clubs will have showcased their playing threads for the season, with Atletico being one of the latest to do so.
The Madrid side took to their social media accounts in showcasing their brand new third kit, going for a simplistic design. The kit has a blue base colour, with the Plus 500 logo, Nike Swoosh and jersey number being white.
Also, the jersey comes with a red and white striped collar and sleeve, with the pattern also seen running down the side of the shirt and socks.
Atletico X Chiefs
That said, Atletico's kit drew comparisons to that of Chiefs away jersey of last season, with it having a similar design particularly with the look of the collar and sleeves.
Amakhosi's away strip of the 20/21 campaign also had a blue coloured based design, although darker than that of Atletico's. The similarities come in the form of its collar and sleeves sporting distinctive patterns.
Same Design Template?
With both sides having Nike as their kit sponsors, the sportswear giant could well have used a similar template in designing the Spanish giant's strip.
