Leo Messi bank note?
Lionel Messi led Argentina to its third World Cup title on Sunday after La Albiceleste defeated France 4-2 on penalties after a nail-biting 3-3 score after extra time.
Messi took home the Golden ball for the second time, (the first player to do so) and came narrowly close to the Golden boot after being pipped by PSG teammate and rival on the day, Kylian Mbappe.
The love and recognition for Messi seems to be reaching new levels as the Argentina Central Bank considers putting their footballing icon on the 1 000-Peso bill (around R98.42) – a move that would be a nod to his iconic number 10 shirt, as reported by cronista.com.

La Cronista also mentioned the Argentina Central Bank directors are staunch football fans, with one of them being a Barcelona supporter. Both Lisando Cleri and Eduardo Hecker agreed that a Messi bank note would further awaken the spirit of Argentines.
Argentina has commemorated football through their currency in the past. The issued a range of pesos to celebrate their hosting of the 1978 World Cup, which they went on to win their first ever title.
