Mamelodi Sundowns have explained on the club's official website how the Chloorkop outfit pays bonuses to the players.
The Brazilians are known for paying huge incentives to the players.
"Following enquiries and reports over the bonus pay-out policy at Mamelodi Sundowns, the club has responded as follows:
"Mamelodi Sundowns believes that players should not be giving part of their own bonuses to non-playing staff and management as there is a different incentive structure for them. Players, whose careers are short, must invest their money and prepare for when they no more play football.
"Mamelodi Sundowns believes that we are paying our staff exceptionally well, and have provided employment opportunities for many of our former players so that they can continue to earn a living.
"The club has always strived to provide employment opportunities in spite of having been advised that the club is overstaffed because we cannot retrench people in the current environment.
"The response follows reports that non-playing staff are bitter because they were not included in the bonus distribution following the club's Absa Premier League championship win. The full R10-m prize money was given to the players and technical team to share," sundownsfc.co.za.
