The iconic marksman's existing deal with Al Nassr is on the verge of expiring. His current contract with the Knights of Najd will come to an end at the conclusion of the season, and rumours are yet to surface about an extension being close.
What has been prevalent, however, is speculation that he may leave the Saudi giants for a club set to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup later this year. The global showpiece has undergone a major revamp and, for the first time ever, will feature 32 clubs competing in the United States of America.
The Portuguese superstar's long-time rival Lionel Messi will be taking part in the tournament with Inter Miami, and it is alleged that Ronaldo may be tempted to join a team competing in the competition as well.
According to SoyFutbol and multiple other news reports, the two main clubs keen to sign the multiple-time Ballon d'Or winner are Inter Milan and Al Nassr's rivals, Al Hilal.
It is alleged that both clubs are interested in bringing in the Portugal captain exclusively for the tournament and would be willing to offer him an extension based on his performances in North America.
