Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has broken an impressive record set by his former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi.
Los Rojiblancos' title hopes suffered a blow after playing to a 1-1 draw against Espanyol on Saturday afternoon.
While it was a disappointing afternoon for the hosts, Griezmann did leave with some history after becoming the foreign player with the most appearances in LALIGA with 521.

Griezmann surpassed Messi, who had racked up 520 appearances for Barcelona since making his debut in 2004.
The Frenchman made has made 360 appearances for Atletico, 141 for Real Sociedad while has appeared 74 times for Barcelona.
However, Griezmann's future with Atletico remains uncertain as he has just one year remaining on his contract and he is being heavily linked with the Major League Soccer.
