Rulani's Wydad Remain On Course For First Trophy

Rulani Mokwena's Wydad Casablanca got back to winning ways after defeating rivals FUS Rabat in the Moroccan Throne Cup.

Wydad came into the clash winless in their last four Botola Pro League encounters, which seemingly put Mokwena under some pressure.

The South African coach had also announced before the game that he would be going on a social media haiatus for the final remaining months of the season.

Thembinkosi Lorch was once again included in the Wydad line-up while countryman Cassius Mailula started on the bench.

One goal was all it took for the home side to get the win, with Mohammed Moufid bursting into the 18 yard area and firing home to in the 58th minute.

The goal sealed Wydad's spot in the round of 16, where they will face Moghreb Tetouan who overcame Union Khemisset in their last 32 tie.
