Top 5 Highest Paid EPL Stars Revealed

Erling Haaland is reportedly the highest paid player in the Premier League.

The Premier League's top five highest-paid players have reportedly been revealed, with Manchester City's Erling Haaland sitting at the top after his recent long-term extension.

According to L'Equipe, the Norwegian marksman has the most lucrative contract in the English top flight after he recently inked a fresh nine-year extension with the Sky Blues. The 24-year-old went from £375,000 (R8.8 million) to £500,000 (R11.7 million) per week, as he now makes an estimated £2.2 million (R51.7 million) a month, factoring in additional bonuses, loyalty incentives and image rights agreements.

The back-to-back Premier League Golden Boot winner is first by some distance, as in second place is his club teammate Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian, who is currently in the final months of his existing deal, earns £432 000 (R10.1 million) per week. However, that is poised to change with his contract expiring at the end of the season and his prominence with the team waning.

Tied for third place are players from Haaland and De Bruyne's rival clubs, as Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Manchester United's Casemiro are both understood to be earning £376 250 (R8.8 million) per week.

Like the City captain, Salah's contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season, but given his prolific form for the Reds this season, he could still see his wages increase. The Red Devils' Brazilian is not enjoying as good a campaign, though, and there have been rumours that United are keen to sell him come the end of the season.

The same report claims that English duo Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling round out the top five highest earners, as both earn a whopping £349 000 (R8.2 million) per week. Both are currently on loan at Aston Villa and Arsenal, and it is said that their parent clubs, Manchester United and Chelsea, pay 75 percent of their overall wages.
