The story

Golden Arrows legend and assistant coach, Kagisho Dikgacoi is one of the lucky 17 South African international who have graced the English Premier League, largely rated as the best league in the world.

The former Bafana Bafana midfielder, who played in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, tasted Premier League action with Fulham and Crystal Palace between years 2009 and 2014.

Dikgacoi made most of his club appearances as a player for Crystal Palace, making 114 appearances, scoring eight goals and formed part of their promotion to England's top flight in 2013.

Speaking in a snippet of the "Up Back Through" podcast shared on Instagram, Dikgacoi briefly explained how he found life in the United Kingdom after leaving Arrows before the World Cup in 2009.

"At first it was difficult, very very difficult. The culture is different, the style of play, the food is different, that's why I'm so big now. I got to eat anything that I want," shared KG.

"But, it was all about the belief and how much more I wanted to play in the Premier League. Everyone wants to play in the Premier League, you know. I kept working hard, forcing myself into the team, maintain my position in the team even though things didn't go so well in the first season, getting injured, back-to-back, to be in the Championship with Crystal Palace, I wanted to be back in the EPL," he added.
