Mrs Maela Reflects On Her Magical Wedding Weekend

The story

Buccaneers skipper and Bafana Bafana international, Innocent Maela and presenter, Zenande Funani brought their families together to celebrate their union over the Human Rights Day long weekend.

The couple brought their Swati and Xhosa heritage together at a beautiful Traditional Wedding ceremony, which included Amabhaso, a traditional Xhosa bridal shower. 

Funani took to Twitter to look back on the special weekend where she referred to Maela as her best friend and life partner. She also expressed gratitude to her friends and family who travelled to celebrate with her and the Bucs captain. 

"What a magical weekend it has been, marrying my best friend and life partner in the most beautiful celebration of love! My heart is so full," wrote the sports content creator. 

"It's been a whirlwind of emotions, joy, and unforgettable moments, and while I'm absolutely exhausted, every single moment was worth it. Before I take some time to rest and soak it all in, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. To everyone who sent messages, I see them and even though I haven't had the chance to respond yet, please know that I appreciate each and every one of them...

"To my incredible friends and family who traveled for different provinces just celebrate with us, your love and support means the world to us. Sharing this special day with you all made it even more unforgettable," added the new Mrs Maela.
