A European club chief has made a major admission about possibly signing Paul Pogba.

The French midfielder is now eligible to return to football after his suspension from the professional game ended earlier this month.
In September 2023, the playmaker was initially handed a four-year ban after he tested positive for a prohibited substance, but saw the sentence reduced to an 18-month suspension after appealing the first verdict to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Lagny-sur-Marne native is now a free agent after Juventus decided to terminate his contract last year, but Pogba remains a wanted man as many clubs are allegedly interested in signing him. One of the teams tipped as frontrunners to land his services is Olympique de Marseille.
The rumours linking the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner intensified during this campaign's mid-season transfer window, but ultimately no deal materialised. However, Marseille president Pablo Longoria has now admitted that they could still be keen on bringing him to the Stade Vélodrome.
"We had the opportunity, there were some conversations, and we've considered this possibility," he told El Larguero.
"Looking to the future, he's obviously a player of an important level, and a name like that on the market is always valuable.

"Looking ahead, we're focused on the end of the season, and perhaps in three weeks we'll have a clearer vision of the plan. Obviously, a player like that on the market is something to be valued."
