The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs attacker has been nominated for the 2025 Annual National Sports Awards (ANSA) in his homeland.

The ceremony is organised by the Sports and Recreation Commission and is making a return for the first time in five years. The 2016 CAF Champions League winner has been nominated for the newly introduced People's Choice Award, along with fourteen other athletes, and the winger is the only football player among the nominees.

The 35-year-old returned to the Zimbabwean top flight, the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, at the start of last season and is now a member of Scottland FC.

After spending over a decade in South Africa, where he won numerous individual and team honours, the 51-capped international has returned to his homeland and made a significant impact.

On his debut for his new side, he assisted a goal, and he will now be hoping that he can maintain that form for the rest of the season. The award ceremony is set to be held on 30 March at the Cresta Lodge, Msasa.

However, before he can see if he can beat the likes of cricket star Sikandar Raza, UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo, and 2024 Olympics Athletics 100m and 200m finalist Tapiwanashe Makarawu to the award, he has a major FIFA World Cup qualification match to navigate against Nigeria.
