With Paul Pogba's football ban officially coming to an end on Tuesday, there is reportedly still a European giant interested in signing him.

Just over a year ago, the French midfielder was handed a four-year ban for testing positive for Dehydroepiandrosterone. The former Juventus and Manchester United star faced the prospect of only returning to football as a 34-year-old, but after taking the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner had his ban reduced to 18 months.

On 11 March 2025, the ban was officially lifted, and the Lagny-sur-Marne native is now eligible to return to football. Pogba is currently a free agent after I Bianconeri terminated his contract shortly after his sentence was reduced, and he is now looking to return to the highest level.

According to Diario AS, the United academy graduate still harbours ambitions of playing for the French national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and consequently would prefer to stay in Europe. Rumours have been rampant linking the four-time Serie A winner with a move back to his native country to play for Olympique de Marseille.

It is believed that the Ligue 1 outfit strongly considered signing him during the January transfer window but, for the sake of squad chemistry, decided against it.

However, the same report claims that the club's executives are still strong admirers of Pogba and remain interested in potentially bringing him in for next season.
