The Egyptian national boss claims that he is confident of beating Bafana Bafana in the second leg of their African Nations Championship qualifier following their first-leg draw.

The Pharaohs were close to leaving South Africa with a vital victory in their first-leg qualifier against Molefi Ntseki's charges, but a late strike from Jamie Webber salvaged a draw for the home side.

The North African outfit opened the scoring through Mohamed Antar not long after the half-time interval but let their one-goal advantage slip towards the end of the game.

The two sides will face each other later this week, on 9 March at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium, to decide which of them progresses to the next stage of qualification. However, Egypt boss Wael Riad is confident that his side will come out triumphant in their tussle with Bafana.

"The draw is good for passing the first stage of the qualifiers," Riad told members of the media after the match, as per FilGoal.

"The second leg in Ismailia is like the second half, and we will strive to achieve victory and reach the second stage.

"Despite the players not having four training sessions, in addition to the fatigue due to the long journey and the beginning of Ramadan, they were enthusiastic and determined and showed the will to achieve a positive result in the first leg."
