How Azam Acted Quickly To Tie Down Chiefs Target

In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Ibwe emphasized that Salum is no longer a free agent.

"No. He is not (going to be) a free agent. He won't leave for free as he is still our player. He has signed a new 18-month contract," Ibwe told the Siya crew.

However, other sources close to the club and Salum indicated that the 27-year-old midfielder has expressed a desire to explore new opportunities.

"The player had shown the desire to move on and that's why he initially turned down the first offer from the club (Azam). But apparently the club doesn't want to lose him for free and that's why they have signed him for another 18 months just to make sure he is still their player. It's not just one team interested in him and that makes business sense for Azam to extend his stay," the Siya source revealed.

Amakhosi head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who previously worked with Salum at Yanga SC, is reportedly keen on bringing him to Naturena.
