Burundian striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has been confirmed as the latest signing of Algerian juggernauts USM Alger.

The 27-year-old began the season plying his trade in Iran with Zob Ahan, but after failing to find the back of the net in the Persian Gulf Pro League, the former Chiefs attacker now finds himself back on the African continent.

While Bimenyimana was signed on 5 February, the Algerian Football Federation's (FAF) Players' Regulation Committee only approved the towering striker's registration earlier this week, and he is now eligible to participate in the club's next league match against El Bayadh.

An official statement released by the club said: "The FAF Players Regulations Committee approved the qualification of our new striker, Bonface Bimenyimana Kalab, after studying the qualification request submitted by our team's management, as Kalab will be concerned with the upcoming match against Mouloudia El Bayadh.

"The Burundian striker signed a contract with the club on February 5, 2025, extending until January 31, 2026, with the possibility of renewal.

"Bonfils Kalab began his preparations with the group since February 16th, gradually, with the aim of regaining his level and quickly integrating with his teammates.
