Wydad 'Make Decision' On Lorch

Wydad Athletic Club have reportedly made a decision on Thembinkosi Lorch.

Wydad Athletic Club have reportedly made a decision regarding the potential acquisition of out-of-favour Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Thembinkosi Lorch.

Earlier this week, it emerged that the reigning Betway Premiership champions were keen on moving on the South African international.

The news comes only a year after Ka Bo Yellow made the shock decision to acquire his services from Orlando Pirates. However, since the departure of Rulani Mokwena from Chloorkop, the 31-year-old's prominence at the club has waned drastically.

While Lorch was a regular starter for Sundowns last season upon arriving, this campaign the nine-capped international has only started two matches in all competitions for Masandawana.

With Mokwena now at Wydad, it has been revealed that the Bloemfontein native has been offered to the Red Castle, and, according to Moroccan outlet Anbaetv, the record Botola Pro Inwi champions are willing to sign the unsettled attacker, but only on a loan deal.

The same report claims that the North African giants have struggled to acquire their desired targets because the clubs they are buying from have been reluctant. However, with their continental rivals open to parting with one of their forwards, it seems this is an opportunity the club could take.

South African outfits such as Kaizer Chiefs have been rumoured to be interested in signing Lorch as well, but it is alleged that Sundowns would prefer to strengthen a club such as Wydad as opposed to a direct rival within their own league.

If Wydad are to pull the trigger on a deal for Lorch, they will, however, have to act fast as their transfer window closes on Friday. It remains to be seen whether they will be successful in their hopes to sign the forward or if the future has something else in store for him.
