Breaking: Pitso Threatens Exit Over Unpaid Wages

Pitso Mosimane has found himself at loggerheads with Esteghlal FC board following issues related to unpaid wages.

The Kagiso native was appointed head coach of the nine-time Persian Gulf Pro champions back in October.

While he did not enjoy the best of starts in Tehran, losing his first three matches in all competitions, the 60-year-old tactician is now on a nine-match unbeaten run.

Mosimane's fortunes on the pitch have improved, it seems the same cannot be said off it.

Soccer Laduma can confirm that the South African tactician has not been paid by the Capital Blues in months.

While the reason for the lack of payment has not been disclosed, reports from the Middle East claim that the club are currently facing cash flow issues due to their former chairman failing to inject any funds into the club during the final weeks of his tenure, which has had an adverse effect on their finances.

Soccer Laduma understands that the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss' legal team has handed in a notice to the club, stating that all his outstanding dues must be paid within 15 days.

If the payments are not received, Mosimane will have just cause to unilaterally terminate the contract, as per FIFA laws.

After reaching out to Pitso Mosimane's agent Moira Tlhagale, the representative confirmed that the allegations of unpaid wages are valid.

"It is true, we are owed money", Tlhagale revealed.

Reports from the gulf region claim that Esteghlal are doing everything in their power to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
