Al Ahly have been warned about trying to sign Cristiano Ronaldo as they look to bolster the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Red Devils were placed in Group A alongside Palmeiras, FC Porto and Lionel Messi's Inter Miami.

There were reports about Al Ahly bringing in Ronaldo in a bid to get a match up with his long-standing rival Messi, who Al Ahly will face in their first game.

However, Former Al-Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry feels a deal for Ronaldo will not be beneficial for the African champions.

"If Cristiano Ronaldo comes, it will be at the expense of other players, and in the end you will not sacrifice Wissam Abu Ali, the striker," El-Badry said, as per Kooora.

The former Al Aly coach did add that Ronaldo's former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema would be a better acquisition.

"The specifications that Al-Ahly needs apply to Karim Benzema, the leader of the Saudi Al-Ittihad, and not Ronaldo."

Al Ahly will be back in action on Sunday evening against Esperance in the CAF Champions League group stages.
