Ramovic Optimistic Despite Winless Start At Yanga

Sead Ramovic says he is confident that he can turn things around at Young Africans despite suffering two losses to start his career with his new club.

It has not been an easy start to life in Dar es Salaam for the former TS Galaxy boss, as he suffered a second straight defeat as Yanga boss this past weekend.

Two second-half goals from Ayoub Abdellaoui and Soufiane Bayazid saw MC Alger condemn the East African giants to a 2-0 defeat and bottom position in Group A of the CAF Champions League.

Despite failing to win, or even to score, in his initial matches in charge of the Tanzanian champions, the Stuttgart native remains optimistic about his side's prospects of returning to winning ways.

"It's not the start we wanted, but my belief in this team is strong. We will work hard and turn this around. There's no room for doubt," he told members of the media after his side's loss in Algiers, as per The Guardian Tanzania.

While he remains optimistic about his charges' chances of winning in the future, Ramovic has insisted that they will need to learn how to defend better at critical moments during matches.

"We have 25 good players, but we need to improve our compactness and defensive organisation. The first offensive action is to defend well because defending well sets the stage for better attacks," he added.

Ramovic did, however, admit that missing four key players—Dickson Job, Khalid Aucho, Shadrack Boka, and Clement Mzize—played a massive role in Yanga failing to gain a positive result.

"If you play without four starters who are key players, it's not easy. These injuries undoubtedly affected our performance," the former goalkeeper explained.
