The South African tactician has officially made his first signing since arriving in Iran, with the Persian Gulf Pro League giants announcing the acquisition of Masoud Juma.

The Kenyan international had a brief stint in South Africa with Cape Town City in 2018, joining the club as a 21-year-old. However, his time in the Mother City was short-lived as he departed at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Since then, Juma has played in the United Arab Emirates, Libya, Morocco and Saudi Arabia. He now finds himself in a new Gulf nation as he looks to help 'Jingles' revive the Capital Blues.

A statement on the club's official Instagram page reads: "Juma officially joined Esteghlal

"According to the official media of Esteghlal Club, 28-year-old Kenyan striker Masoud Juma joined Esteghlal with a contract until the end of the season."Juma, who has played in the league of Kenya, South Africa, Algeria, Morocco, etc., has also played in Al Fujairah, UAE, and has played for two teams, Al-Faisali and Jablin, Saudi Arabia. He signed with Esteghlal.
