PSL Rivals Monitoring De Reuck?

PSL Rivals Monitoring De Reuck?

The Siya crew has been led to believe that a rival is closely monitoring the situation of Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rushine de Reuck.

As previously reported by the Siya crew, Sundowns may not extend the contract of De Reuck come the end of the season and indications are that there are interested parties.

Those indications are that SuperSport United are looking at the possibility of bringing the defender in to bolster their defence. With Malibongwe Khoza coming in and doing well at Sundowns, it appears De Reuck's chances of featuring regularly at any point are slim.

Already there is a lot of competition in central defence with the likes of Grant Kekana, Mothobi Mvala and Mosa Lebusa, so the addition of young Khoza has decreased De Reuck's chances of getting opportunities to play.

De Reuck's progress at Sundowns has previously been hampered by injury and while he was out trying to recover, there were players making sure that they stamp their authority in the team.

This season, the former Maritzburg United defender has made just three appearances in all competitions. One of the appearances was a full 90 minutes in the CAF Champions League second round against Mbabane Swallows, while the other two were as a substitute in the Betway Premiership against Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City.

SuperSport are believed to be planning ahead, especially with captain Thulani Hlatshwayo not getting any younger. It's understood that De Reuck is an option, but a decision is only likely to be made at the end of the campaign.
