Magesi FC Parades Carling Trophy Through Limpopo

Carling Knockout Cup champions Magesi FC celebrated their historic triumph by parading the trophy through the communities of Limpopo.

The story

After defying the odds to beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the Carling Knockout final on Saturday, the newly-crowned Carling KO champions paraded their crown in their home province.

To mark their victory, Magesi FC kicked off a trophy tour on Monday with a visit to Kgabo Park, where the club was founded in 2009.

Led by chairman Solly Makhubela and captain Elvis Chipezeze, the team also presented the trophy to Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba and to Kgoshi Kgabo Moloto III at the Royal House in Moletjie.

Magesi FC made sure to greet their supporters in way Seshego, the largest township in the province, before concluding the parade Polokwane's city centre.

It's safe to say that Premier Soccer League newcomers, Dikwena Tša Meetse have been making all the right moves since last season.

After winning the second tier to secure their place in the South African top-flight for the 2024/25 season, they have been grabbing attention for all the right reasons.

In the Betway Premiership, they've earned six points from six matches, with one win, three draws, and just two losses, despite being ruled out at the start of the season as automatic relegation candidates.

Their fairytale run in the Carling Knockout Cup has made the SA football fraternity stand up and notice Clinton Larson's troops, who on their way to the final, overcame Orlando Pirates, TS Galaxy, and Richards Bay away from home.
