Ntseki Linked With PSL Return After Chiefs Chapter

Ntseki Linked With PSL Return After Chiefs Chapter

Molefi Ntseki during his time as the head coach of Kaizer Chiefs in the 2023 MTN8 semifinal second leg match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs on 23 September 2023 at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has had his name bandied about among those of coaches linked with clubs in the PSL, potentially for the second round of the 2024/25 season, the Siya crew has learnt.

Ntseki has been without a club for more than a year since parting ways with Chiefs in October last year.

While it has taken long for the 55-year-old to join a club after Amakhosi, he hasn't been completely out of the game as he has been seen at some PSL matches though attending as a spectator, with the indications that he has been assessing his options regarding a potential next move.

According to sources, the former Bafana Bafana coach could be ready for the next project should a suitable offer be made available for him in the coming weeks.

As reports emerged in recent weeks that Richards Bay FC have had their coach Brandon Truter under pressure to change the team's fortunes after a disappointing start to the season, sources close to the KwaZulu-Natal outfit have indicated that Ntseki's name has come up among potential candidates for the role should the club decide to make technical team changes.

However, Richards Bay boss Sifiso 'Jomo' Biyela told the media last week at the NSL's Quadrennial General Meeting in Johannesburg that there has been no need to replace Truter just yet, hoping for improvement in the team's results after the FIFA international break.

"What I know is that Molefi Ntseki is available and ready to join any team in the PSL if an opportunity comes his way. There's been talk of him possibly going to KZN to follow Arthur Zwane whom he worked with at Chiefs, who recently joined AmaZulu. But for him (Ntseki) it could be a different club, and Richards Bay cannot be ruled out. There has been talk of that among those close to the club," said the source.
