Mbappe 'Devastated Emotionally' At Real Madrid

Mbappe 'Devastated Emotionally' At Real Madrid

It has been claimed that Kylian Mbappe is suffering emotionally at Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe, who has been left out of France's squad again, is reportedly "devastated emotionally" at Real Madrid amid his poor form at the Spanish giants.

The 25-year-old is grappling with a "psychological problem" that is affecting his performances, according to Antoine Simonneau, L'Equipe's correspondent in Spain.

The French superstar made his highly-anticipated free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Los Blancos this year, but he is finding it difficult to settle into life at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Currently, Mbappe is in a positional battle with Ballon d'Or runner-up Vinícius Junior for the left-wing spot, a role that the Frenchman has made his own in the past.

However, with Vinícius firmly established on that flank, Mbappe has been pushed into a central striker role – a position he is not comfortable with.

Although Real returned to winning ways with a 4-0 victory over Osasuna on Saturday, following two disappointing defeats to Barcelona and AC Milan, Mbappe's struggles continued.

While Vinícius was in superb form, bagging a hat-trick, and Jude Bellingham opened his scoring account for the season, Mbappe was once again unable to find the back of the net.

With the forward also omitted from Didier Deschamps' French squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Israel and Italy, the opportunity to regain some confidence over the international break is off the table.

Given the mounting pressure and frustrations, Simonneau revealed on Carrusel Deportivo that Mbappe is currently in a tough place: "Right now, he is devastated emotionally and accumulates many problems."

Once seen as the golden boy of French football, after winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup at 19 and scoring a memorable hat-trick in the 2022 World Cup final, Simonneau believes Mbappe's reputation has taken a hit.
