As we approach the halfway point of the 2024/25 season, the football fraternity nears the commencement of the revamped global football competition.
The previous iteration of the competition only included seven teams, but in mid-2025, 32 sides will contest to see which club is the best on the planet, as the likes of Sundowns, Wydad Athletic Club, Chelsea and Juventus will all be pitted against one another.
Earlier this month, world football's governing body announced the rules for the tournament set to take place in the United States, and now FIFA has made a fresh declaration.
The Swiss-based institution has now revealed that the draw for the showpiece will take place on 5 December.
It will be held almost a week after the final team — either Atletico Mineiro or Botafogo, who are set to contest the final of the Copa Libertadores — books its place in the 32-club competition.
The draw will kick off at 19:00 CET (20:00 CAT) to determine the eight groups of four teams who will compete in North America from 15 June to 13 July.
While more details pertaining to the tournament are emerging, many questions still remain, such as who will be its main sponsor alongside Hisense and who will hold the primary broadcast rights.

As the world waits to find out each team's respective path at the Club World Cup, another piece of information that has been made available is that Lionel Messi's Inter Miami will kick off proceedings at the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins, on 15 June.
