According to the Daily Mail, sporting director Edu Gaspar is set to make a surprise exit from his position.
The Brazilian, who was a former midfielder for the Gunners, returned to the club as technical director in 2019 after being recruited from the Brazilian national team.
He was promoted to sporting director in 2022 and is believed to have been at the heart of the club's impressive recruitment in recent seasons.
He has helped Arsenal sign stars such as Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, but the same report claims that there have been shifting of responsibilities within the club's hierarchy and it may have played a part in the decision.
Regardless, it is believed to be 46-year-old's own decision that he is leaving the Emirates Stadium, but no clear reason has emerged e as to why he is in discussions to make the shock departure.
The news comes at a time when the north Londoners are not in the best of form. The 13-time English champions are without a win in their last three matches, losing two and drawing one.

It remains to be seen who will succeed the Sao Paulo native, but it will likely be a tough task as Edu is regarded as one of the best in his role in the world.
