The story

As football becomes more system-based with each passing season, many fans globally are yearning for the the self-expression ballers like Ronaldinho exhibited in the 2000s.

Nike Football, like their competitors adidas and PUMA, understand the power of nostalgia when it comes to the beautiful game and how to add a modern twist to projects from the past.

Nike have partnered with British streetwear brand, Corteiz and it's owner Clint, to new trailer for their upcoming Air Trainer Huarache sneaker collaboration.

The trailer was directed by British photographer, Gabriel Moses, who's worked with the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Jude Bellingham and Kanye West.

Taking heavy inspiration from Nike's Freestyle Basketball commercial from 2001, Nike and Corteiz's new collab features a star-studded cast ranging from current players, Kobbie Mainoo, Phil Foden, Eduardo Camavinga and Chloe Kelly, to Dutch legend Edgar Davids.

With Nike Geo Merlin II ball (used in from 2002 till 2004 in the EPL) as a centre piece, this campaign video sees Nike reminding fans of their creative football adverts from the early 2000s era.
