Nabi Explains Sirino Sub After Back-To-Back Losses

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has explained the decision to take off Gaston Sirino when the team was trailing SuperSport United in the second half.

The Soweto giants fell to another Tshwane outfit after losing 1-0 to Gavin Hunt's SuperSport at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The defeat comes seven days after the Amakhosi thrashed SuperSport in the Carling Knockout at the same venue.

"First of all congratulations to the opponent for the three points and the other thing is sometimes football is simple, in order to win a game you need to score," Nabi told SuperSport after the game.

"We had five, six opportunities to score, the opponent only had one and they scored but us we didn't score the five we had,"
"It's very difficult to swallow the result today but that's how football is, we need to go back and understand that if we wanna win, we need to score more than our opponents."

When asked about the decision to with Sirino, replied, "We believe the changes that we made had a positive impact. Unfortunately for Castillo, it was an injury. But Sirino was injured during the week, he didn't train, he trained in the last session," he added.
"But we wanted to start him and see what he can give us but we knew that he wasn't 100 percent fit but the changes we made with [Mfundo] Vila, Blom, Ashley [Du Preez] we believe they had a positive impact in terms of controlling the game going forward and to make the team more dynamic."
