Venue: Ulker Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium

Noussair Mazraoui made a surprise start for United in the number ten role in place of the suspended Bruno Fernandes, while Victor Lindelof, Manuel Urgarte and Joshua Zirkzee was also recalled.

The visitors got the breakthrough with their first attack on 14 minutes a swift counter-attack ended with Zirkzee teeing up Christian Eriksen, who slammed home from the edge of the box.

Jose Mourinho's men nearly got back into the contest after 23 minutes but Ugarte popped up with a superb block to deny Youssef En-Nesyri a certain goal in the six-yard box.

Th home side grew stronger as the first half went on and they were unlucky not to have equalised ten minutes before the break as Andre Onana produced a superb double save to keep two headed efforts from En-Nesyri in quick succession.

The Turkish outfit only had to wait four minutes into the second half to get level as En-Nesyri got on the end of Allan Saint-Maximin's cross and nodded past Onana.

Mourinho could not keep himself out of the limelight against his former side as the Fenerbahce coach was sent to stands after expressing his disappointment at his side not getting a penalty.

Both sides look to their benches for the final 20 minutes, as United introduced Antony for Marcus Rashford in the attack while the home side threw on former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, who replaced En-Nesyri.

However, neither side were able to get the winning goal in the closing stages, leaving United without a win after three games in the tournament.
