The story

Three Mzansi ballers, Mihlali Mayambela, Fagrie Lakay and Shandre Campbell based in Europe and North Africa got onto the scoresheet for their respective clubs.

Bafana Bafana winger, Mayambela netted for Aris Limassol in their 2-1 win over Ethnikos Achna, to see his club remain second in the Cypriot top flight.

It was Mayambela's first league goal of the new season for his club and it will serve as a major confidence booster for the 28-year-old, who'll be eager to get back into Hugo Broos' Bafana Bafana squad in November.

Egyptian-based striker, Fagrie Lakay scored on his debut for Ceramica Cleopatra FC in their 2-1 cup loss to African giants and reigning Egyptian Premier League holders, Al Ahly.

Lakay, who's on loan at Cleopatra from Pyramids FC, fired a lethal shot to equalise on the stroke of half-time in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Super Cup.

The former Cape Town City man will hope his debut goal will spur him on to have a good season at Cleopatra, that could not only result in a move to bigger club next season, but also a national team call-up.

Former SuperSport United starlet, Shandre Campbell continued where he left off in the COSAFA Cup under-20 tournament by scoring a brace for Club NXT in a 3-1 win over K. Lierse SK.

Campbell has gotten off to a bright start in Belgium, with his brace on Saturday making it three goals in just two Challenger Pro League appearances.
