On Saturday, Wydad Athletic Club were unable make it back-to-back wins in the top flight as they drew 1-1 with Hassania d'Agadir.

The result leaves the record Moroccan champions in sixth place on the log, and while failing to accumulate all three points in the encounter would have been a cause for frustration, it was the absence of supporters that seemingly infuriated the South African tactician more.

After the match, the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss expressed his concern about not having supporters at stadia in the nation poised to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup, but now the Moroccan top flight has released a statement in response to the 37-year-old's comments.

"It has recently been noted that the statements of officials and coaches of some clubs are incorrect and do not serve the development of national football and the positive transformations it is experiencing in light of the intensive preparations for the continental and international events hosted by the country," the statement read, as per Kooora.

"The league draws attention to the seriousness of some inflammatory statements in the football system regarding refereeing and the absence of fans in some matches whose stadiums are undergoing temporary repairs that may be completed in the coming months."

"The league calls for concerted efforts by members of the national football family to keep pace with the good path that national football has recently taken, and to lay solid foundations to achieve what the clubs and their fans aim for, with respect for the institutions that manage the affairs of national football."
