Basadien's effort saw him catch Cape Town's City goalkeeper Darren Keet off his line, from his own half in Stellies' 3-0 derby victory over their Western Cape rivals.

Lehlohonolo Mojela also produced a scintilating effort in the Cape Winelands club's 1-1 draw to Polokwane City on Sunday:

Bayern Munich loanee Bryan Zaragoza surely caught Vincent Kompany's eye with his composed finish in Osasuna's 4-2 upset over LaLiga table toppers, FC Barcelona on Saturday.

Back to the Betway Premiership, Kabelo Dlamini stepped up to hand Pirates all three points with a stunner of a freekick, helping Bucs see off Richards Bay in Durban on Sunday.

In the English Premier League, strugglers Everton got their first win of the new campaign with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The hero of the day for the Toffees was winger Dwight McNeil who bagged a brace for Sean Dyche's men, scoring a sublime curler for the equaliser:
