Burnley Coach Explains Foster's Absence

Burnley coach Scott Parker has explained why Lyle Foster missed the team's victory against Leeds United on Saturday.

Foster played both of South Africa's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and South Sudan, scoring in the first one.

However, the 24-year-old was nowhere to be seen when the Clarets took on Leeds at Turf Moor.

Parker has now explained that Foster came back from the international break with a bit of flu.

"He came back ill from the international break," Parker said, as per Burnley Express.

"He came in on Friday after literally 20 hours of flying. He came back with a virus so there wasn't really any point of risking him.

"Also, the likelihood is, with the dynamics of the international break as it is, Flemming had been with us for the last 10 days so were able to get through some work there so we didn't feel it was right to risk him."
