Just days before the new Premier League season begins, yet another Manchester City player has reportedly agreed a departure from the club.

Since joining the Citizens from Leeds United in 2022 in a deal worth €49 million (R972.7 million), midfielder Kalvin Phillips has started only five matches in the Premier League.
Last season, the 28-year-old was loaned out to West Ham United for the second half of the campaign, but struggled to find any form in London as he returned to City for pre-season.
It appears the England international has now agreed to join newly promoted Ipswich Town in a short-term move, according to Sky Sports News.
Reports claim the midfielder was left impressed with the club's plans, led by manager Kieran McKenna, and has rejected a number of offers from other teams to seal the loan transfer.
Phillips' difficult time in Manchester was not helped by comments made by Pep Guardiola after he returned from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Spanish tactician publicly stated that Phillips returned to England overweight, remarks that the player later admitted hurt him.

While his relationship with Guardiola, who later apologised, seems to have been repaired since that incident, it remains likely that his short- and long-term future lies away from the Etihad Stadium.
