Sky Sports has reported that the 17-year-old winger's father, Mounir Nasraoui, was stabbed on Wednesday night following an altercation.

Citing Spanish outlet La Vanguardia, the publication says Nasraoui was rushed to hospital after the incident, but is now in a stable condition.

Local media in Spain say arrests have already been made, while Relevo reports that he has since been discharged from care and is no longer in danger.

The stabbing was believed to take place in the town of Mataro, 30km north-east of Barcelona.

While details of the incident remain unclear, reports suggest Lamine's father was stabbed following an argument that had taken place earlier on Wednesday.

Nasraoui was said to be walking his dog when he was involved in a verbal spat with those who later attacked him.
