Kaizer Chiefs have cast their eye on sensational attacker Asenele Velebayi but their initial offer has fallen far below Cape Town Spurs' evaluation of the player, according to Siya insiders.
This publication has it on good authority that Chiefs have made an approach to Spurs for the player's services.
While the figures have been kept under wraps, Siya sources have informed the crew that the offer was significantly lower than Spurs' evaluation of the player.

The Cape Town club has been adamant that they will not stand in the way of players who are looking to advance their careers elsewhere - but they have been steadfast in getting a deal sorted that is favourable for both the player and the club.
That requirement, the source says, has not been met as yet.
Now, Siya sources have informed the crew that the player does have three years left on his contract with the Ikamva-based outfit, which in addition to the cost of his development from the age of 12, has contributed to Spurs' asking price.
There have been reports in other media that the player has been away from training due to the standoff regarding his possible exit from the club. However, Siya sources have indicated that the player has in fact been recovering from an illness, something the club's doctors are understood to be aware of.
The door for a possible switch to Chiefs has not been closed; however, Amakhosi would have to significantly increase their initial offer if they are to land the player.
As reported by the Siya crew, Chiefs are believed to be cash-strapped when it comes to further transfers and now it remains to be seen if they can assemble funds to make a move for Velebayi possible.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs and Cape Town Spurs for comment but both clubs had not responded by the time this report was published.
