Kaizer Chiefs are interested in a SuperSport United midfielder as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, the Siya crew has been informed.

Siya sources close to both clubs have indicated that Chiefs have been keeping a close eye on Grant Magerman since his days at Mamelodi Sundowns and throughout his tenure at SuperSport United. Margeman was initially on loan at SuperSport and then as a permanent fixture at the club.

"Grant (Margeman) is one of the midfielders they have been monitoring. They have actually inquired about him from SuperSport. I am not sure how far it has gone but I understand that he has risen on Chiefs' radar for the players they are looking to recruit this season. It's still early to say whether the talks have begun or not but interest is there and they have been monitoring him," the Siya source stated.

Further developments indicate that Chiefs are making strategic moves to accommodate Magerman's potential arrival. A second insider close to the technical team shared his insights into the ongoing preparations.

"They are working on opening up space (in the squad) to accommodate him. They have identified some of the players who they could loan out so that they can bring him in. So, as of now they are looking at who and how they can work around the deal first before they can start negotiations. They are really interested in him and they are working hard to land his signature," the second source stated.

Anticipation will build around whether Chiefs will successfully move ahead for Magerman. This potential acquisition could significantly impact Chiefs' performance, offering fresh dynamics and enhanced midfield options.

Soccer Laduma reached out to both Chiefs and SuperSport for comment regarding the ongoing situation, but no response was received at the time of publishing this story.
