England Stars 'Unhappy' With Bellingham

Some of Jude Bellingham's teammates were reportedly left unhappy with him at EURO 2024.

Some England players were reportedly left unhappy with Jude Bellingham at the 2024 UEFA European Championship, with interesting claims made about the Real Madrid star.

Heading into the tournament in Germany, an adidas ad campaign focused on Bellingham was said to have rubbed some England stars up the wrong way.

The world-famous sports brand seemed to portray the Los Blancos midfielder as the Three Lions' saviour, a sentiment that did not sit well with several people in the camp.

According to The Athletic, Bellingham's "demeanour was the subject of murmurs. That 'Hey Jude' adidas advert, which portrayed him as the national team's saviour, was well received by the public, but some within the camp felt the tone was at odds with the collective ethos of Southgate's England."

There have also been reports that the 21-year-old, who was picked as part of England's leadership group for the tournament, was noticeably absent from his duties when it came to speaking to the press.

This drew criticism from former England captain Wayne Rooney, who claimed that Bellingham would have been happy to conduct post-match interviews had the Three Lions won the tournament.

Gareth Southgate's side suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Spain in the final in Germany, with Bellingham assisting Cole Palmer's second-half equaliser.

The former Borussia Dortmund man is also said to not have many close friends in the England team, which is attributed to his not-so-common path of having played the majority of his senior career outside of the country.
