The story

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the exit of Vincent Pule following his six-year stint at the club. The 32-year-old midfielder joined Pirates after spending four seasons with the now-defunct Bidvest Wits.

Pule is the latest big name player to part ways with the Buccaneers ahead of the new season after the Soweto Giants released striker Kermit Erasmus, midfielder Thabang Monare, midfielder Fortune Makaringe, as well as goalkeepers Richard Ofori and Siyabonga Mpontshane.

During his time with the Sea Robbers, the winger managed over 140 matches, making 35 goal contributions during that period, winning four major honours.

Although he made an immediate impact in his first three seasons, Pule struggled with game time in his last three years at the club, featuring just nine times in the DStv Premiership in the 2023/24 campaign.

Pule has broken his silence following his release, by posting a compilation of his best moments in a Bucs shirt and wrote:

"Dear @orlandopirates Fam. I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks. To the Chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza, thank you for the opportunity you gave me to be part of such an amazing institution. To the Management and technical team, your dedication, expertise, and tireless efforts behind the scenes have been nothing short of remarkable.

"To my fellow players, it has been an honour and a privilege to share the pitch with such a talented and passionate group of individuals. The bonds we have formed both on and off the field will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the memories we have created together.

"And last, but certainly not least, to our loyal supporters. Your unwavering dedication and unwavering support have been the backbone of this team. Your passion and enthusiasm have inspired us to push harder, aim higher, and never give up, and for that, I am truly thankful. Thank you once again for everything and know that I will always cherish the time we spent together."
