Kaizer Chiefs appear to have had a change of plan about Edmilson Dove under the newly assembled technical team, the Siya crew has been reliably informed.
Having spent the past few days in camp with the national team of Mozambique in preparation for the COSAFA Cup, Dove was withdrawn from the group at the last minute as he was required to report for duty at Chiefs.

Following the departures of Sifiso Hlanti, Keagan Dolly and Siyethemba Sithebe among others from Naturena, Dove is earmarked for the left-back role under Nasreddine Nabi and his technical team in the new season, according to sources.
This past season, Dove featured mostly as a centre-back for Amakhosi in his 15 appearances in the league, just like he did in the 2022/23 campaign, which was his first season with the club.
At Cape Town City, the 29-year-old featured mostly as a left-back as he made his name in Mzansi's top flight after arriving in 2017 from Mozambican club Ferroviario de Maputo.

"Chiefs have made their decision on Edmilson Dove's future, and he is staying with the club for one more season. The one-year option on his contract has been exercised. Following the exit of Hlanti, the club has a gap in their left side of defence, and he (Dove) is earmarked for that role going forward," said the source.
