Messi Name His Greatest Sportsman Of All Time

While Lionel Messi is regarded as one of the greatest athletes of all time, the Argentina international has now revealed who he thinks reigns supreme over all sportsmen in history.

Very few footballers have been able to win the titles the Rosario native has in his career, with the diminutive attacker having held aloft football's biggest trophies, in a team sense as well as individually.

His accomplishments in his career have catapulted him into discussions about not only being the greatest footballer ever, but also the greatest sportsman ever.

Messi does not seem to hold himself in that high regard, though, as he believes basketball icon Michael Jordan should have that honour.

"It seems to me, in terms of sports, he's the greatest there is," The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner said, as per Sportskeeda.

At the height of the pandemic in 2020, a docuseries highlighting Jordan's career called The Last Dance was released and this seemingly gave the Inter Miami captain even more appreciation for what the New York-born basketball legend achieved.

"But after having seen his series and getting to know a bit more about him, you know, The Last Dance, it just blows your mind, it's a masterpiece, it's impressive," Messi added.

"Well, that also brought me closer to him and to understand a bit more about who he was.
