The five-time Ballon d'Or winner started in A Selecao's opening match of EURO 2024, and played the full 90 minutes.

In making his latest appearance for Portugal, Ronaldo has become the first player in history to play at six different EUROs, after his debut in the competition in 2004.

The Al Nassr No. 7 was unable to mark his historic night with a goal, though, as Roberto Martinez's side came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory.

Substitute Francisco Conceicao, son of former Portugal international Sergio Conceicao, scored the winner in the 92nd minute after an own goal pulled them level in the 69th minute.

For Ronaldo, he has now made a staggering 26 appearances in EURO matches – more than any other player in history – and he is also the competition's all-time leading goalscorer with 14 strikes.
