Moroka Swallows striker Gabadinho Mhango has emerged as a subject of interest for two DStv Premiership clubs looking to bolster their squads.
The Siya crew were informed last week that the Malawian international, whose goals helped the Dube Birds avoid relegation, could be sold by the club if an enticing offer came their way during the off season.
Indications are that Mhango does indeed have potential suitors in Chippa United and Sekhukhune United, two clubs who struggled for goals last season. The well-travelled striker managed to find the back of the net eight times in 28 games for Swallows in a tenure first led by Steve Komphela and concluded with Musa Nyatama in charge.
The 31-year-old joined the Soweto outfit from AmaZulu at the beginning of the season that has just ended and hoped to make an immediate impact, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal after Komphela appeared to have an influence in his signing.
With Swallows' financial troubles not a secret, the Dube Birds would actually benefit from selling a player of Mhango's quality – and Chippa and Sekhukhune have proven before they are two clubs not afraid to spend in the local market.
Mhango, having played for Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows and Bidvest Wits, has never shied away from a fresh challenge and the striker could consider leaving the financially struggling side although the decision isn't completely up to him.
